Poornima
Poornima began as the child singer Sushma Shrestha — Bachche Man Ke Sachche in Do Kaliyan (1968) with Lata, Teri Hai Zameen in The Burning Train — and returned under a new name in the 1990s as a voice for the David Dhawan comedies: Sarkailo Khatiya, Husn Hai Suhana, Main To Raste Se Ja Raha Tha, Masti Masti.

Life
She was born in Bombay in 1965 to the Nepali music director Bholanath Shrestha, and sang as a child for Laxmikant-Pyarelal, R.D. Burman and Kalyanji-Anandji — Bachche Man Ke Sachche, Yaadon Ki Baaraat's children's version, Teri Hai Zameen. After a gap she came back in the late 1980s as Poornima; Anand-Milind, Anu Malik and Nadeem-Shravan used her in Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Karan Arjun, Elaan and dozens of mid-1990s films, often opposite Vinod Rathod and Kumar Sanu. She continues to perform and record.
The voice
Poornima's voice is bright, slightly nasal and full of comic energy — the ideal foil for Govinda's songs — with a childlike brightness that goes back to her first recordings.
