Jaspinder Narula
Jaspinder Narula's Pyar To Hona Hi Tha (1998), with Remo Fernandes, won the Filmfare Award and made her the voice for the big Punjabi-flavoured number of the next few years — Mission Kashmir, Mohabbatein's Chalte Chalte with Udit Narayan, Yehi Hai Pyar. She trained in classical music and has since concentrated on Sufi and Sikh devotional singing.

Life
She was born in Delhi in 1970 into a family of musicians, trained in classical music to doctorate level, and sang Punjabi pop before Jatin-Lalit's Pyar To Hona Hi Tha. Her film run lasted into the mid-2000s — Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Mission Kashmir, Mohabbatein, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai — and she has since recorded shabads, Sufi music and ghazals and performed widely. She received the Padma Shri in 2025.
