Life
He was born in Mumbai in 1995 into the Malik family — his grandfather Sardar Malik and uncle Anu Malik were composers — and trained under Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He sang jingles and children's parts, studied at Berklee briefly, and from 2014, mostly to his brother Amaal's tunes, had a run of film hits: Main Hoon Hero Tera (Hero), Bol Do Na Zara (Azhar), Wajah Tum Ho, Sab Tera (Baaghi), Ghar Se Nikalte Hi, Chale Aana. Since 2020 he has released English singles (Control, Echo with Eric Nam and KSHMR) and continues in Hindi and Telugu.
The voice
Armaan's voice is smooth, high and precise, with an R&B-influenced delivery and a sweetness that made him the natural voice for the young hero's love song in the mid-2010s.
