Chitra Singh
Chitra Singh sang with her husband Jagjit Singh on the records that made the ghazal popular — The Unforgettables (1976), Come Alive, Ecstasies, Beyond Time — and on film in Arth and Saath Saath. Her high, light, slightly sad voice against his baritone was the sound of the 1980s ghazal evening; she stopped singing after their son's death in 1990.
