Santidev Ghosh was an author, singer, actor, dancer and maestro of Rabindra Sangeet, chosen by Rabindranath Tagore as a teenager to teach at Santiniketan.

Tagore sent him across India and to Sri Lanka, Java and Bali to study music and dance, and encouraged him to act and dance in his productions.
His recordings preserve the Santiniketan way of singing Tagore's songs, and his books on the songs remain standard reading.
